Domain Name Registration

 

Your domain name is incredibly important. It is the address of your website, your url, the name by which your clients can find your website. LineDot provides the domain name of choice, free, to all of its customers. LineDot is happy to talk you through the process of selection, helping to optimise your website for search engines too.

 

Hosting

 

Every website needs a host to keep it online. Each host provides its own levels of web space (room for your website) and bandwith (limits amount of access). LineDot manages this hosting for you entirely, including 1.5Gb of web space (that's big!) and 20Gb of bandwith per month (that's huge)! Your website will have 99.9% uptime, the website should never realistically be unavailable due to the hosting errors that some websites suffer from.

 

Graphic Design / Photography

 

Whether or not you have a design in mind your website will most likely require the creation or development of images designed for the web. High quality photography can be expensive, so LineDot offer a photography session for free with each package if you are within a 100 mile radius (otherwise we simply invoice a small amount to cover travel expense). Similarly, LineDot are happy to design your graphics, all of which are covered by the overall price.

 

Free Support / Advice

 

Having a fantastic website that you don't understand is going to be less worthwhile for your clients. LineDot offers not only free advice, so that you can make the right decisions for your website, but also free support from a web designer to make sure everything is running smoothly at your end. LineDot will talk you through accessing your e-mail accounts, understanding traffic analysis and anything else technical you would like to know.

 

HTML / CSS / PHP / Flash

 

Behind each website there is a great deal of 'coding'. Providing updates for websites which have been designed by other companies reveals that some companies have bad, or out of date coding practices. At LineDot each website is checked against the standards outlined by the W3C (the key Authority on web design codes of practice). LineDot uses quality approved HTML and CSS throughout, and can provide extra functions with the use of PHP script and Flash devices. If you want a comments page where users can submit information, or a form which sends the results to yourself by e-mail, PHP knowledge enables LineDot to provide you with that service.

 

Search Engine Friendly + Optimised

 

Not a single web design company is able to guarantee search engine results. What a web designer can do however, is to make sure that each website is designed as Google recommends - user friendly without blocking the search engine 'spiders' or 'bots'. Making sure that the website is available across each browser, using non-deprecated tags, taking into consideration the needs of the disabled: each of these factors will help make your website become search engine friendly.

 

Essential 'Search Engine Optimisation' is also included, as standard, across all of LineDot's web design packages. Be reassured however that this is not the inexact science of 'Advanced Search Engine Optimisation' that some companies offer. E-mail Accounts

 

Each website comes with several e-mail accounts if required. Your unique e-mail address will be based on your very own domain name, i.e. yourname@yourdomain.org, and can be accessed via web browser or most standard e-mail programs. LineDot will happily talk you through the process of adding the new account to your Microsoft Outlook, or Windows Mail software.

 

Traffic Analysis

 

So how often is your website being visited, and what are the people that access your site doing while they are there? LineDot provide a comprehensive analysis of all website-traffic, which is then detailed to each client, outlining and explaining the number of hits / visits / downloads and more. Using the popular Webalizer, LineDot shows you an insight into your potential clients through hourly, daily, and monthly traffic analysis, completely free.
